Getting Ludicrous at the Library
Many things in modern life are ludicrous.
Like this guy, if you can't spell. |
Here's your factoid for the day: our word "ludicrous" derives from the Latin ludus, meaning "play" or "sport." Thus we can say, without derision, that the Ferguson Library is truly ludicrous, for you can go there to play and borrow games.
The Harry Bennett branch has both a Canasta Club and a Mah-Jongg Club. If you'd rather gather at the main library, they offer an Open Game Night along with chances to tackle Dungeons & Dragons.
Yes. Yes you can. |
Those who would rather get gamesome at home also have options at the library, for now your card allows you to borrow not only Jenga, Twister, and a bowling kit, but a raucous card game called (we kid you not) Exploding Kittens. Which will soon be a Netflix series, somehow.
